    There are a number of variables that may impact price. However, one might expect a price of $2.50 to $4.00 per installed watt of solar power on a grid tied system.

    Yes, there is enough sun energy in this part of the country to financially justify installing solar.
  • What is the return on investment for solar?
    Residential systems may see an average ROI of 10-14 years. Commercial projects may be as low as 8 yrs.
  • What is the warrenty on solar panels?
    We only use panels that have a minimum performance warrantee of 25 yrs.
  • What is the life of solar panels?
    One should expect a minimum of 30 years out of a panel. An average degradation of the panel performance of .05% per year should be assumed.
  • What's the difference between a Microinverter vs string inverter?
    A micro inverter inverts the DC power from the panel to AC power at the array and typically has 1 to 4 panels connected to each inverter. A string inverter has all the panels connected in 1 to 3 strings and inverts the power from DC to AC away from the array.
  • Is there long term maintenance with solar panels?
    Typically there is little needed maintenance for panels.However, there is some benefit to having your panels regularly checked by your installer or a service provider.
  • Is there a tax credit for solar?
    There is a Federal Tax credit still available for solar.The residential credit is f5695 and the commercial is f3468.Commercial systems may also qualify for accelerated depreciation. Please consult www.dsireusa.org for additional incentives.

  • How much do solar panels weigh?
    Each panel weighs between 40 and 55 pounds.A typical complete system may add 2.5 to 5 lbs per square of load to a roof.
  • Do I need to replace my roof for solar?
    It is advised that a client replace a roof that is approaching the end of its life prior to installing a system. It is a good idea to have a roof inspected prior to soliciting bids for solar.
  • What are the color options for solar panels?
    Frames are available in black or mill finish aluminum (silver).Cells are black (monocrystalline) or dark blue (polycrystalline).
  • What are the permit requirements for solar?
    Requirements vary from one county and state to another.We will make sure you have all the necessary permits for your area.
  • What are the different types of batteries for solar?
    There are three primary types of batteries you may see on a system; lead-acid, sealed lead acid, and some lithium-based. We prefer to use Fortress Energy batteries which are lithium iron phosphate.
