About us
Who We Are!
We're Solar By ECOS
Solar by Ecos was founded by Chris and Tony whom both bring years of experience in construction and sustainability. Our business philosophy is guided by the triple bottom line, We strive to make a positive impact on the PEOPLE in our community, help improve our PLANET, while remaining PROFITABLE so that we may continue to make a positive impact.
We take a Holistic approach when performing site visits for our solar designs and installation. As building professionals, we take into consideration whole-building performance and efficiency as part of our standard site assessment. Better overall performance and efficiency ensures that our customers will get the best value from their solar energy investment. In addition, this approach will also minimize carbon footprint and maximize environmental impact.

Our experience in construction teaches us that using the best tools and trades ensures a successful project. We invest in high-quality solar design software. We develop a complete set of structural engineered stamped drawings for each project. We will obtain all appropriate permits from the local authorities and we will assist with any utility interconnection agreements. Also, we contract with licensed professional electricians.
Meet Chris And Tony
Chris Zittelli
I left a Ph.D. Program in History at the University of Kentucky to go to work for 84 Lumber. After six years with 84 I worked for Wether Shield Mfg. as a territory manager. After that short tour, I studied for and passed the LEED exam to become an Accredited Professional. I have also been trained as a HERS rater. I now sell Enercept structural insulated panels, provide LEED consulting services, perform home energy ratings, provide Energy Star certification, and Green Build verification. It is my goal to promote sustainable building practices by providing quality products and reliable services. I have also recently been appointed to the board of directors for the Kentucky chapter of the USGBC. I have recently been asked to head up a Residential Green Building committee for our chapter.
